GRE

The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) revised General Test is taken by individuals applying to various graduate and business school programs in United States and other countries. Administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), it is available at about 700 centers in over 160 countries.
The computer-based GRE can be taken once every 21 days, up to five times within any continuous period of 12 months.

Eligibility

There is no specific eligibility criterion for GRE. However, various universities that accept GRE scores have their own criteria of admission.

General GRE Test pattern 

As per the GRE 2017 test pattern, the total duration of the Computer-based GRE General test is 3 hours 45 minutes.

There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the third section.

Note :

The Analytical Writing section is always presented first. Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and unscored sections can appear in any order.

Scores

Scores are reported in the following scales:

Sections Score
Verbal Reasoning 130-170, in 1 point increments
Quantitative Reasoning 130-170, in 1 point increments
Analytical Writing 0-6, in half point increments

If no questions are answered for a section, it will be indicated with NS (No Score).

Exam Format

GRE is conducted in two formats: computer-based and paper-based. In India, only the computer-based format is available.
